Drop that tail about 12", dump the wheezy 223 6 cylinder and it’s perfect!
In Colorado of all places.

Or, swap in a “late model” I6 from a late 80's-90's F-150. Dare to be different.

i was looking at the prices in the chicago area.............. ridiculous. $5k for what youre hunting. short step sides dont go out of style for long. and its not often you see an early 60s ford on the road.
best jump on it quick

I won’t buy a Midwest truck. I’d be better off buying rust by the pound.
I can’t jump on that one until I have a shipping quote. Colorado to Chicago is going to be $8oo +/-.

I’m with B-man, just replace the 223 with a 300 and call it a day.

Yeah, an FI 4.9 would be a neat change of pace. More than enough power for a cruiser too.

Exactly, certainly more interesting than a 302 or a Coyote, IMO.

My dad has had my Grandpa’s 1963 C10 Deluxe since he passed away 10 years ago. Just sitting in my parent’s backyard. My impending future as a home owner and the impending road project that will see my parents lose some of their yard where it currently sits has been putting many thoughts about doing a full reworking of the brakes and suspension. Add power steering and go to power disc brakes. I think it’d be a real good work horse for a much smaller investment than buying a new truck.
